2019-20 AWS Alaska Section

AWS Alaska Section 125 Members,

Nomination for 2019-2020 board members closed last week.

The last week of May there will be an AWS Alaska section annual business meeting. The meeting will likely take place in Anchorage or Matsu Valley (Wasilla/Palmer). The meeting agenda will be on pass, present and future activities and event, budget, scholarship, bylaws, and election for 2019-20 officers, and others and open discussions. The annual business meeting announcement specific date, time and location will be forth coming.

The current 2019-20 AWS Alaska Section Officer candidates are as follow:

Annual Business Meeting
Also, AWS Alaska is working to improve membership participation and activities state wide and if you are interested in supporting AWS Alaska in your area, please feel free to volunteer as a Regional Unit Coordinator. Areas maybe but not limited to Fairbanks, Kenai Peninsula (Soldotna/Kenai), South-East AK, Kodiak/Aleutians, Valdez.

Regional Unit Coordinate definition
A Regional Unit Coordinate shall be appointed by Alaska Section chairman and approved by the Alaska executive committee. The duties of the Regional Unit Coordinator shall serve as a liaison to the Alaska Section Chairman, the executive committee and the other section for coordinating all activities, projects, and program with designated region. The Unit Coordinator shall conduct membership drives and may initiate other activities within the regional are for the good of the AWS Regional membership.  Regional units may elect unit offers that parallel the list of the officers having their own officers, meetings, programs and special activities.  The AWS Section bylaws shall govern activities of the regional unit.
