Greetings Section Members and Friends,
I sent an email back on January 27th, I am still looking for judges to help out with the Skills USA Region 5 welding contests.
The contest consists of welding individuals, welding fabrication and welding sculpting. We currently have 24 competitors for individuals, 10 welding fabrication teams and 2 welding sculpting competitors.
I currently have 7 judges for the event, I was looking for about 15-18 judges. I would really like to have more judges, it just makes it easier when there are 2-3 for each area. If there are people that you work with that would like to get involved, please forward this email or my contact information. Please I need your help!
West-MEC Central Campus is hosting the Region 5 Skills USA Welding competitions on Friday February 21st. I am looking for individuals to judge or proctor the following events: welding sculpting, welding individuals and team fabrication. This is how many people I need for each area:
WELDING INDIVIDUALS
- 2 proctors – Welding knowledge test, math test, and blueprint reading test
- 2 judges – Oxy-Fuel Cutting
- 2 judges – SMAW
- 2 judges – GMAW
- 2 judges – GTAW
WELDING FABRICATION (TEAM)
- 3-4 Judges
WELDING SCULPTING
- 3-4 Judges

Orientation for competitors will begin at 8:00 AM
Contests will begin at 9:00 AM
