April 2020 Section Update

Greetings AWS Central Louisiana Section Members & Friends,

The leadership of the AWS Central Louisiana Section hopes that everyone is safe and protecting themselves from the COVID –19 virus by following the recommendations of government leaders, this has been a difficult time for all of us.

April is National Welding Month Please join the American Welding Society throughout April as we celebrate to bring awareness to our industry and its available paths. To find out more about how you can promote welding in our area follow the following web address-

Due to the current COVID–19 restrictions we will not be able to conduct our monthly membership meeting for April. We are hoping that by May we will be able to conduct our meeting as we have in the past.

We will also be accepting nominations for the AWS Central Louisiana Section 509 Executive Committee. Our current executive Committee member’s term will end May 31, 2020.

Even though there are committee members wishing to continue serving on the committee, positions are open to any AWS members in good standing. The following positions are open any member who are interested;

1st Chair
2nd Chair
Secretary
Treasurer

Any member interested in serving on the executive committee please submit your name for consideration by May 15, 2020 to [email protected]. Elections will be held May 18th-20th, the election will be conducted on Survey Monkey with the results announced at our May membership meeting on May 21, 2020.
