AWS Welding Information Booth at the 148th Tunbridge World’s Fair

AWS 100th Year Anniversary
Welding Information Booth at the 148th Tunbridge World’s Fair

September 12-15, 2019

AWS Members:

AWS and Welding Information Booth at “The World’s Fair” ( A long time tradition of 148 years focusing on all aspects of Agriculture ) Their theme this year is “Fair Fokes”. Check it out online.

Our goal; is to educate the public about the AWS, who we are, what we do, membership, scholarship, and all things Welding. The booth will be two sided. One side will have live welding demonstrations. The other side will have a Lincoln virtual welding simulator, a Huge Hit for all ages, (offered by Burt Riendeau and Airgas). In the middle is the AWS table. We had lots of help form our members last year, with tools, equipment, literature, code books, personal projects, welded test pieces, artwork, and more. We hope to have 4 people per day to man the booth. The event runs for 4 days in a row, from 8:00am – 9:00pm each day, and people stay late into the night. We also have the option to stay late to enjoy the nite life.

There was 35,000 visitors last year at the fair, from the very young to the very old. We will have local welding suppliers donate materials for welding demos. Our members can bring welding equipment, projects, or anything else they would like to share. This year we will be celebrating AWS’s 100th. We hope to have more volunteers this year. If you Love Welding, We need your help, please come help us out. We had a great time last year and reached a lot of people. We need new blood, And to let our people know the importance of who AWS is, and what we do. “Welding Joins The World Together!”

Dates are Thursday Sept/12-13-14-15/2019. There will be 4 passes per day for our volunteers included in the booth fee. If we have more volunteers than that, Green & White Mountains Section will reimburse your entry fee, but you must spend a good amount of time at the booth helping out. If you just want to breeze though to see what’s going on, that is fine, but your entry fee is on you. Hope to See you there!
