AWS Northern New York Section Tour of C. Springer Welding Works & Marina

16 members of the AWS Northern New York Section assembled on November 5, 2019 for a tour of the newest and only marina in Albany, C. Springer Welding Works & Marina as well as a demonstration of
new Lincoln Electric equipment.

Joe Martin, owner of C. Springer Welding Works and Marina, and Connor Meehan, Lincoln Electric Technical Sales Representative served as the evening’s speakers.

C. Springer Welding Works & Marina has served the Capital Region since 1907. The marina offers 50+ boat slips, boat launch for seasonal slips, full restrooms, marine store and more. The Welding Works primarily specializes in safely securing heavy cargo onto ships, rails, and design and building of barges.

The demo of Lincoln’s new line of commercial equipment included — PowerMig 140 MP, PowerMig 210 MP, SquareWave TIG200, PowerMig 260 MP, and Ranger 330 MPX

Also Raffle tickets were sold to benefit the newly established Robert J. Christoffel scholarship fund.  We are raffling off tickets for a new Lincoln helmet to raise money to fund this scholarship. We’ve raised $4,000 of the $10,000 needed to fund the scholarship. Once we reach the $10,000 funding level, the AWS Foundation will match our donation to establish a permanent fund in memory of longtime AWS member,  Robert J. Christoffel. Special thanks to Erich Haun of Haun Welding for the pizza and soda.
