Northern New York Section of AWS and 13 BOCES students attended a live blacksmithing demo at Aggressive Metalworks. Got a look at one of the oldest known forms of metalworking and how it evolves while staying true to it’s past. Aggressive Metalworks’ owner, Mike Cataldo, opened up his blacksmithing studio for a night of fire and education!
Also, raffle tickets were sold to benefit the newly established Robert J. Christoffel scholarship fund. We are raffling off tickets for a new Lincoln helmet to raise money to fund this scholarship. We’ve raised $4,000 of the $10,000 needed to fund the scholarship. Once we reach the $10,000 funding level, the AWS Foundation will match our donation to establish a permanent fund in memory of longtime AWS member, Robert J. Christoffel.
