Jerry Hope Scholarship

Introduction

To establish a welding related education scholarship named the “Jerry Hope Endowment Scholarship” to benefit students and employers in the AWS District 19 region.

Purpose
The committee members understand the financial challenges involved in pursuit of higher education. By providing this scholarship we hope to alleviate some of these financial hurdles.

Eligibility requirements
Students seeking a Bachelor of Science or higher degree (anywhere in the United States or Canada) in Welding Engineering; Welding Engineering Technology; or a student seeking Bachelor of Science or higher degree in
Materials/Metallurgical Engineering (preferably with an emphasion welding and/or the metallurgy of weldable metals) and who possesses either:
2.1.1.1 a 2-year Associate degree in Welding Technology.
2.1.1.2 a 2-year Welding Engineering Technology diploma.
2.1.1.3 a current “Record or Welder Qualification” in at least one
welding process in all positions plus 2-years minimum
welding experience.
2.1.1.4 a current “Welding Inspector” certification plus 2-years
minimum welding related experience.
