2021-2022 Alaska Section125 Officers and

other Volunteer Board Positions

The AWS Alaska Section 125 is seeking leaders to ensure the Section can continue to stay viable and provide value for the approximate 350 active AWS Alaska Members – and countless others involved in the Alaska welding community.

AWS Alaska Section 125 is now seeking candidate nominations for the Section Officers and other volunteer Board Positions for the 2021-2022 calendar year.
Calendar year is June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.

Any AWS Alaska Section 125 member who is a AWS current member to Section 125, will stay a current member for the duration of the calendar year, and are of good-moral-character are eligible as nominees. Members can nominate other members, and nominate themselves too. The current Acting Chair will not be a candidate for any of the officer positions.

The Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Members-at-Large (6 max.) roles are available and allow individuals with an interest of applying existing leadership skills – or those who are interested in developing/refining leadership skills – to make a significant impact in an area they are passionate about and to the Alaska welding community.

Chair, 1st Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Committee Chair, Education Committee Chair, Publicity Committee Chair, Program Committee Chair, S.E.N.S.E. & Student Affairs Committee Chair, Certification Committee Chair, Awards Chair, Scholarship & Foundation Representative, Image of Welding Chair, Student Member Liaison, Technical Representative, Section’s Librarian w/ Section Library location.

If interested in participating with the election, AWS Alaska Section is looking for members to help with the election process, Election Committee, for the 2021-2022 nomination and election.

Not ready for a Section Officer role but still want to help?

There are opportunities for anyone who is interested in becoming more involved to make an impact regardless of experience or free time. This is your AWS Alaska Section, and we want it to deliver as much value for you as possible. The only way we can do that is by gaining your input.

  • Have an idea for an outing that would interest members?
  • Want to serve as a speaker for an upcoming meeting?
  • Have a location that could host a Section meeting/event?
  • Have special skills (marketing, social media, event planning, etc.) that you would like to share?
  • Does your company have items to donate that the Section could raffle off?

Let us know how you would like to contribute to the development of the AWS Alaska Section, and we will gladly try to find the most appropriate way to engage you.

Any AWS Alaska section member that becomes a new officer will be supported, mentored and coached for any of the positions by current officers and/or AWS headquarters.
