2022 Welding Thunder

Hello, everyone.

The welding instructors at West-MEC Glendale and Buckeye Campuses would like to cordially invite you all to the Welding Thunder Fabrication Team Competition on November 18 and 19, 2022. This year’s theme is “Your Grill, Your Way.”

The event will take place at West-MEC Southwest Campus from 9am to 6pm on Friday and 7am to 1pm on Saturday. There are currently have 17 teams competing, they will be fabricating a grill/smoker combo. Vendors will be coming to display their products but the organizers would also like to have business/industry, apprenticeships and post-secondary institutions set up a booth so students can see what opportunities are available to them after high school. There is no cost to set up a booth. If you are interested in setting up a booth, please contact Eric Phye at [email protected]. The organizers welcome all to witness this event even if you decide not to set up a booth.
