AWS Atlanta Section Tour of Caterpillar draws strong crowd
A group of 30 assembled for the AWS Atlanta Section visit to Caterpillar’s facility in Athens, GA on Thursday, September 12. Joni Robinson provided a 40 minute history lesson on Caterpillar values and mission and talked with students and members about employment opportunities. Production Supervisor Brady Enman and Welding Engineer Bret Smith provided a tour around the fabrication, machining, assembly, and logistic shop showing how a product is made from start to finish.
The Atlanta Section raffled off 3 Student Memberships and 1 AWS Section welding bag with tools. The Section also presented Caterpillar staff with a plaque for hosting our meeting.
