Recap: PRESENTATION OF $15,000 MILLER LIGHT A SPARK GRANT – Apr 22nd

April 22, 2022 – PAUL DUKE STEM HIGH SCHOOL; NORCROSS, GA.

DD5 DARYL PETERSON presented this high school with the $15,000 MILLER LIGHT A SPARK GRANT. The engineering & technology program is starting a welding program to fabricate electric race cars with roll cages. The program has 40 students registered and all 40 students came to school on their day off to participate in the presentation of their new equipment. They all participated in assembling all carts, tables and hooking up the welding machine. We raffled off 11 new student memberships (6 donated by DD5 DARYL PETERSON). We raffled of 1 Jackson electronic helmet donated from AWS foundation. Then winner was LUIS RIVERO ROBLES. Matt Bartles from the pipefitters union talked about benefits of their program. The school principle JOHN WETHERINGTON, Technology instructor STEPHEN COCHRAN and other instructors were present. JOHN MOBLEY, BRANDON HORSELY, and JUDAS KINCHEN.
