Based in Opelika, Ala. Clean, Plentiful Water for Opelika. For Now. For the Future.

The mission of the Opelika Water Works Board is to assert a broad, long-term view of the water needs of Opelika’s citizens and industries to assure that facilities, sources and manpower are provided for pure, plentiful water now and for the future. Opelika’s W. Warner Williams Water Resource Park at Saugahatchee Lake, opened May 2013, is a masterpiece of both form and function. LEED certified, the new Water Resource Park encompasses a state-of-the-art water treatment plant, distribution and maintenance facilities and an administration building that put Opelika in the forefront of water technology.

This facility can provide up to 8 million gallons of water per day. Combined with the Robert A. Betts Water Treatment Plant’s 16 million gallons per day, Opelika’s total output is nearly 24 million gallons per day.

The W. Warner Williams Water Resource Park at Saugahatchee Lake was not designed only for Opelika today, but for Opelika’s growing population and industrial development for decades to come.
