Boy Scout of American - Welding Merit Badge
Scouts participated in a 2 day event for SMAW & GMAW. They met first for an evening of Welding Safety and understanding the basics of welding. 2nd day was Hands on Lab Day at Rock Valley College Weld Lab. Scouts built the a carbon steel eagle using GMAW process and wrote their initials using the SMAW process as well. This is an annual event held with the Blackhawk Section and Instructors from Rock Valley College, this welding merit badge event brings scouts in from all around Northern Illinois to participate.
