Lincoln Electric donated a welders starter backpack with helmet and Miller Electric Supplied coat, gloves and bag for our First Prize Winners. AWS donated a Kimberly Clark welding helmet that we included in the Miller Bag for the 1st prize team winners to have similar prizes. Weldstar and their suppliers supplied all 12 students with new welding coats, gloves, beanies, safety glasses, and a Metabo Grinder per team competing and Airgas supplied them with abrasive discs used for the competition. Material was supplied by 425 Manufacturing of Rockford, IL.
There were CWI judges on site to judge the students welded assembly which was 1/4″ material with 1 tube weld on it. Judges were George Bane, Zachery Caccia, and William ‘Bill’ Isham all of which are welding instructors at area colleges.
