February 2019 Meeting Announcement

Greetings AWS Central Louisiana Section Members & Friends,

I would like to encourage all of our Central Louisiana Section members to attend our monthly meetings; the executive board tries very hard to move the meeting around our section area to be as inclusive to all members as possible. We work hard to present topics that will be educational as well as informative. Any member or business member who have suggestions as to meeting topics or would like to host a meeting at your business to highlight your business, please contact Tom Malo via email [email protected].

The only way we can succeed as a section is to have participation of our membership.

Our next meeting will be on February 21, 2019; Mr. Don Sanders an AWS CWI, AWS CWE who is well known throughout Central Louisiana for his welding knowledge will our guest speaker and detail Synchronized Curriculums: AWS and NCCER Welding – Level 1, this topic will enlighten students and our membership on how High School and CLTCC welding students in Central Louisiana are being trained.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Apply for Scholarships by March 1st!

Apply online at scholarship.aws.org by March 1st for National, District, and most Section Scholarships.  Students will have the opportunity to fill out one master application for any scholarships in which they are eligible to apply.  Supporting documentation, such as references, transcripts, and financial need documentation, is due March 8th.

Please note that this year all section scholarships applications can be accessed online at scholarship.aws.org. Sections may continue to use paper applications locally, but we ask that any applications received on scholarship.aws.org are reviewed as well. By default, all section scholarships have a deadline of March 1st but we can move the deadline to May 1st if requested.
