Award of first place Region 1 Award in the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation Welding Project Competition
Matthew Woolcock received the first place Region 1 Award in the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation Welding Project Competition. This region consisted of 16 states across the northeastern U.S. The contest required drafting, building and supplying a step-by-step procedure for a project. He received the award for designing and welding a lawn roller. For his accomplishment, he was awarded a $500 check along with a Lincoln Electric 140T MIG welder. An additional Lincoln Electric 140T MIG welder was donated to the Venango Technology Center as a gift for Matthew’s accomplishment. Matthew is a senior at Cranberry High School and Venango Technology Center and he is the Chairman of the Oil Region Student Chapter. He will be attending Pennsylvania College of Technology for a Bachelor of Science in Welding Fabrication Engineering Technology degree.
