Section Awards, Scholarship Info, and Roundtable Announcement

Greetings AWS Holston Valley Section Members,
Your section officers are excited to announce details about our upcoming section meeting.
The meeting will be held on September 10th, at RCAM in Kingsport from 6 PM till 8:00 PM. An auto darkening welding hood will be awarded as a door prize at the end of the meeting.
Educators, Students, and Industry Representatives are encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to network with industry professionals and maybe take some information with you that can help you or your organization.
The meeting will consist of the following topics:
- Discuss Section Business
Planning Meeting for any additional ideas for the year. Possibly vote on using some section funds for a few scholarships this year to get AWS matching funds and possibly help some students with tools/equipment that are part of the Tennessee Promise. - Awards Presentation
Presentation of AWS awards for section members. - An overview of AWS Scholarships, how to apply, and a review of the information available online.
- A short round-table discussion with education/business/industry/graduated students to address training needs, employer needs, and student expectations.
This will be a great meeting for employers, students, and industry to get together and discuss their needs.
