Plant Tour-Utility Trailer Recap
Our section meeting attendees were given a detailed tour of the manufacturing facility that included parts processing, sub-assembly manufacture, final assembly, and testing of their dry box trailers. The facility has over 5 acres under roof and the tour was split up into two groups. Over 100 welders are employed at the facility. The welding processes utilized included GMAW, GMAW-P, FCAW-G and FCAW-S. An AWS CWI oversees many of the quality control aspects related to welding performed. This was a great turnout for our meeting and it was great to network with other welding professionals in the Southwest Virginia region of our section.
