Section Meeting – UA Pipefitter Apprentice Program and Tour

Dear Section Members and Friends,
Local 538 of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting industry of the United States and Canada will be presenting information about their organization and a tour of their facility.
This will be a great opportunity to see what Local 538 has to offer for both individuals new to the welding industry and those with existing experience. Local 538 offers apprenticeship training for individuals in many aspects of the pipe trades including extensive welding training that can build on existing experience to develop a wide variety of welding skills needed in the piping trades. UA offers approximately 100 different tests for their welders to keep them prepared for the wide variety of welding conditions in the industry.
This meeting will consist of 2 parts.
Part 1 – Beginning at 5:45 PM, section officers will meet to discuss activities for the upcoming section year and any section business. This meeting will be open to the general membership.
Part 2 – At 6:00 PM, UA Presentation and Shop Tour.
Covid-19 precautions will be based upon the requirements of Johnson City TN and our Host.
This is a great opportunity for educators and students to become familiar with an apprenticeship program that values existing skills and can assist with developing many more.
