The AWS Idaho-Montana (ID-MT) Section 185, AWS District 20, and AWS National provide many welding scholarships for those pursuing welding knowledge. ID-MT post-secondary welding students and educators please apply for the upcoming academic year welding scholarships via an electronic application process through the AWS Foundation Scholarship Portal at https:\/\/scholarship.aws.org\/applications\/<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

AWS National, District, and ID-MT Section welding scholarships<\/strong> are designed to assist students and educators majoring in welding or welding-related studies with the ever increasing challenge of paying for their college education. Please help spread the word about these scholarships. Remember that the deadline for all welding scholarship applications is March 1st <\/sup>(except for the District <\/u><\/strong>AWS Welder Training Scholarship*).<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

See table below for the National, District, & Section Scholarships recently awarded within the ID-MT Section.<\/em><\/p>

NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>

2 or 4-year welding or joining science-related scholarships:<\/strong> Students in 2 or 4-year welding programs are eligible to apply for National Welding Scholarships. Scholarships range from $3,000 to $5,000.<\/p>

DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>

1, 2, or 4-year welding program scholarships: <\/strong>Students in 1, 2, or 4-year welding programs are eligible to apply for District 20 welding scholarships. Up to two scholarships are awarded to qualified ID\/MT welding students.<\/p>

Clark Family Welding Engineering Scholarship (District 20)<\/strong><\/p>

Denis Clark is a welding engineer, “Ohio State MS-WE 1983\u201d who spent his career in welding research at the Sandia and Idaho National Laboratories. He is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Welding Inspector. This annual award in honor of his family is meant for welding technical professionals completing four-year technical degrees contributing to the advancement of welding research and technology.<\/p>

Priority will be given to students in the fourth\/final year pursuing a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Welding Engineering or closely related program.<\/p>

Women of Gases & Welding – District 20 Scholarship: <\/strong>This scholarship is awarded to a female pursuing a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor degree in welding, gases, or a related field and is eager to start her career in the industry. To receive the application for this scholarship, go to https:\/\/scholarship.aws.org\/applications\/<\/strong><\/a> . One scholarship of $1,000 is awarded to a female undergraduate who is both<\/strong> a resident of and attending college in the states of ID, MT, WY, CO, UT, or NM<\/u><\/em>.<\/p>

*AWS Welder Training Scholarship: <\/strong>This scholarship is available to AWS District 20 welding students (includes the states of ID, MT, CO, WY, NM, and UT) seeking welder training in a program up to two years through a trade school, community college, or other facility providing welder training programs, such as Tulsa Welding School and Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. This scholarship cannot be used for credits towards a 4-year program. To receive the application for this scholarship, please click https:\/\/www.aws.org\/foundation\/page\/welder-training-scholarship<\/strong><\/a> . Apply at any time throughout the calendar year but no later than November 30th<\/sup> .<\/strong> A total of twenty five (25) $1,000 scholarships are available.<\/p>

SECTION SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>

There is no separate application for our ID-MT Section Scholarships listed below. All<\/u> qualified applicants applying for a District Scholarship will automatically<\/u> be considered for ID-MT Section Scholarships \u2013 Remember you must be a resident of or attending college in Idaho or Montana to receive section scholarship funds.<\/em><\/u><\/p>
