We are excited to announce that Bishop State will be hosting our January meeting, sponsored by Miller Electric. Come join us for a wonderful opportunity to visit Bishop State’s facilities and hear from our speakers. Clay Byron, our section’s Scholarship Committee Chair and Foundation Representative, will be discussing the AWS scholarship portal opening up and how students can apply. We are pleased to have Ryan O’Dell, Industrial District Manager from Miller Electric, present the new training tools and solutions that Miller Electric has available for the welding industry. Nothing can replace hands-on weld training. However new innovative training solutions can help transform a classroom, so students are able to quickly build the skills and confidence they need before stepping into a welding booth. These new training tools and solutions not only engage students they are effective teaching methods that help flatten the learning and training curve. These same tools and solutions can also be effective for businesses’ that are working to improve current employee skills. Students will get the opportunity to compete on the VR welding system for prizes! |
