👋Join Us 4/11 for Technical Meeting – AWS National Welding Month Celebration👋

Good Mechanical Properties, Improved Safety, No Consumables, All Positions, No Porosity, Easily Automated… Meet Friction Stir Welding (FSW)

FSW is capable of joining aluminum alloys, copper alloys, titanium alloys, mild steel, stainless steel, magnesium alloys, and polymers. Joining of dissimilar metals, such as aluminum to magnesium alloys, has recently been achieved by FSW.

Join us at the Portland TN, Tennessee College of Applied Technologies (TCAT) facility on April 11, 2024, as we learn about Friction Stir Welding. SofĂa Salazar Torres, M.Sc. Student, Material and Chemical Engineering / Welding Engineering, and University of Alberta AWS Student Chapter President will be leading an FSW technical presentation. I witnessed a part of the discussion at FABTECH, and Sofia is awesome. Come learn how you might benefit!

It is also a great opportunity to meet current AWS President Michael A. Krupnicki. President Krupnicki will join us as he passes through District 8 and joins us to celebrate AWS National Welding Month.

Colton McDonald and the great folks at the Portland TCAT have offered to feed us. Please RSVP by sending an email to [email protected], with the names of all who will be attending.
