AWS New Orleans Section’s September General Meeting. AWS New Orleans hosted it’s first meeting of the 2022 – 2023 schedule at the RPCC in Reserve, Louisiana. This was a joint meeting with, and sponsored by, the AWS Baton Rouge Section. There were sixty (60) attendees participating in the meeting between the two sections. Mr. Jeremy Whittemore. Dean of Applied Sciences at RPCC, and Mr. George Fairbanks of Fairbanks Inspection & Testing, Inc., gave a very informative presentation on the welding related programs at RPCC and what considerations must be made when preparing for initial welder performance testing. The New Orleans Section would like to thank AWS Director at-large, Mr. Michael M. Skiles, and his spouse, Mr. Beverly, for their presence at the meeting, as well as a special thank you to the Baton Rouge Section for sponsoring the event.
