Recap: Northern Plains Section Behind the Mask Contest – Mar 23rd

AWS Northern Plains Section recently held it’s Behind the Mask Contest at the campus of Alexandria Technical & Community College, Alexandria, MN. 46 post-secondary students and 27 secondary students competed in SMAW and GMAW processes. The section was fortunate to have District Director Mike Hanson travel to Alexandria for the contest.

The section would like to thank Alexandria Technical & Community College for hosting this year’s contest, to those others who volunteered time from their busy schedule to help facilitate and judge the contest. A big thanks also to all of the vendors who donated materials and prizes for the contest including; Acme Tools, American Welding & Gas, Brenton Engineering, Central McGowan, Clyde’s Machining, Fast Global Solution, Lincoln Electric, Miller Electric, Mathison Industrial Gases, Praxair, Standard Iron, Superior-Westmor Industries, Voyager Industries.
