Section Relaunch!!! Meetings and Opportunities Ahead!

Members of the AWS Santa Clara Valley Section:

I am happy to write you as the new Chair of the AWS Santa Clara Valley Section. An email like this one is what led me to volunteer to take on this role, and I am hoping a few others will join me in supporting this Section after you read this message.

I am planning for the Section to host 4-6 virtual meetings this year and look forward to resuming in-person activity as soon as possible as COVID-19 -related restrictions are eased.

There are opportunities for anyone who is interested in becoming more involved to make an impact regardless of experience or free time. This is your Section, and we want it to deliver as much value for you as possible.

The only way we can do that is by gaining your input.

Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer roles need to be filled and allow individuals with an interest in applying existing leadership skills – or those who are interested in developing/refining leadership skills – to make a significant impact in something we  are passionate about; the welding industry.

Not ready for an Executive Committee role but still want to help?

  • Have an idea for a meeting that would interest members?
  • Want to share a presentation at an upcoming meeting?
  • Do you possess special skills (marketing, social media, event planning, etc.) that you would like to share?
  • Does your company have items to donate that the Section could raffle off?

Let us know how you would like to contribute to the development of the AWS Santa Clara Valley Section, and we will gladly try to find the most appropriate way to engage you.

Please email me to talk more about any of this.

Thank you for your membership with the American Welding Society.
I hope to connect with you soon.

Sincerely,

Ronald Sharp, Jr.
AWS Santa Clara Valley Section Chair
